Screenshots and trailer of Xbox One-exclusive Project Spark

Another fresh title shown at Microsoft’s E3 conference was Project Spark, an Xbox One-exclusive game which allows users to easily create, play and share their own worlds and games. The trailers give an idea of what all this entails, and the enormity as well as simplicity of the project and its extremely intriguing concept.

As the videos illustrate, one can choose from different sorts of terrain such as green landscapes, snow-covered locales, hills and mountains and mould it according to their preference; the same goes for other elements such as characters as well. The community montage clip shows some of the varied games that have been made, including something that seems similar to the sidescrolling platformer Limbo, another that looks like the popular Angry Birds, and a tower defense game.

Mondo Zappa goes to the Moon in these Killer is Dead screenshots

Kadokawa Games has developed a habit of periodically releasing large batches of screenshots for Killer is Dead, and today we have yet another such barrage of images of the upcoming hack and slash action title by Grasshopper Manufacture. Most of the screens depict protagonist Mondo Zappa stylishly cutting a swathe through multitudes of quite strange-looking enemies in a mansion on the moon.

Helping him accomplish this is his katana and cybernetic arm, which changes into various weapons such as a drill for perforating those armoured opponents and destroying walls, as well as a weapon which shoots projectiles that freeze/slow down enemies, in addition to your standard charged shots. The character renders depict the various weapon modes, and some of the characters and enemies our hero will encounter on this strange journey. Yes, that seems to include a near-naked boss-like dude wearing nothing but gold chains and a crown.

Killer is Dead releases on 27 August on the Xbox 360 and PS3; peruse the images below and then access our other articles for tons more screenshots, concept art, videos and info on this over-the-top crazy yet fun game.

E3 trailer of Splinter Cell Blacklist depicts co-op, multiplayer action

E3 trailer of Splinter Cell: Blacklist depicts co-op, multiplayer action

Ubisoft showcased a new trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist at their E3 conference, giving us a better look at some footage from the co-operative and the Spies vs Mercs multiplayer modes. The developers have confirmed that there will be at least 14 co-op missions, in which players can step into the shoes of primary protagonist and leader of the elite Fourth Echelon unit Sam Fisher or that of skilled agent Isaac Briggs.

While the singleplayer and co-op modes focus on curbing the terrorist Blacklist strikes, the  multiplayer portion brings back the extremely gratifying Spies Vs Mercs mode, in which playing as the former means staying stealthy, keeping to the shadows and planning quick surgical takedowns, while the latter involves defending strategic points and using lethal firepower to eliminate the pesky sneaky spies. Access our previous articles for a lot more videos, screenshots and information on Splinter Cell: Blacklist; the game arrives on 23 August on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U.

Time freezes in this in-engine footage of Quantum Break from E3

One of the few fresh and intriguing franchises at E3 was Quantum Break, Remedy’s Xbox One-exclusive game, which seems to consist of a mixture of action and investigation elements. The video below consists of entirely in-engine footage running in real time, and frankly looks quite amazing, with clearly impressive visuals and rendering. The clip suggests that the dimension of time will be a key concept around which the game will revolve, with players or events manipulating it, resulting in the time stutters and freezes shown in the clip; this seems to lead to situations wherein the players will investigate associated incidents and attempt to save innocent lives.

Remedy has been quite tight-lipped as to what players can expect in Quantum Break, and how the actual gameplay pans out; guess we shall just have to put our faith in them for now and hope for the best, especially given that their track record has been extremely impressive. Leaked Battlefield 4 screenshots suggest vehicle customisation

Following the massive assortment of images allegedly from the pre-alpha version of Battlefield 4 that leaked a few weeks back, another batch of screenshots purportedly from the same have appeared online via Neogaf, and focus on some of the various vehicles one can pilot in the multiplayer mode of the upcoming first-person shooter. The images indicate that several customisation options will be available for vehicles such as attack helicopters, boats and tanks, such as choice of primary and secondary weapons, upgrade options, countermeasures, optics, gunner weapons and upgrades where feasible as well as camo paint (at least 11 such, including Atomic Autumn, Hexagon Naval, Starburst Desert and Splinter Urban, are shown for a boat).
