Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition expansion announced, trailer issued

Great news for those looking for some additional content in the Baldur’s Gate verse; Beamdog has announced the Siege of Dragonspear expansion for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition.

Though a release date hasn’t been revealed yet, we do have details on what the add-on will consist of, and that it will cost $19.99. It will arrive initially for the PC, Mac and Linux, with the Android and iOS versions to follow at a later date. The expansion, said to be around 25-hours long, will delve into events set between Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II. Some of its features are mentioned below:

  • New companions: While the original cast will return, you also have new allies: Captain Schael Corwin – an archer loyal to the Flaming Fist; Voghiln the Vast is a skald from the north; M’Khiin Grubdoubler is a goblin shaman, and Glint Gardnersonson is a gnome cleric
  • New locations: Explore varied areas such as the underground Fallen Temple of Bhaal and the Lost Kanaglym dwarven city, as well as Dragonspear Castle and Boareskyr Bridge
  • New monsters to defeat, new rewards and items to acquire, more and quests to complete and the all-new spirit-calling shaman class
  • New user interface and improved Infinity Engine features
  • Cross-platform multiplayer
