CryEngine powered action-RPG Umbra gets a new gameplay video, screenshots

SolarFall games have released a new gameplay video for their upcoming action-RPG Umbra. The video below demonstrates two features of the CryEngine powered action RPG. The resource opposition system is created to provide freedom to the players in terms of character development. The game does not feature any class limitation, you are free to build your character according to your playstyle. However the Resource opposition system will impose penalty on the character for not using a power ability – for instance physically attacking an enemy will any weapon will increase your rage stats, but at the same time reduces Stamina and Mana, as well as their regeneration rate.

Next up is Elemental Interaction system, which is very similar to the one used in one of the best CRPGs Divinity: Original Sins. This system works exactly what it sounds like, elements like fire, water, ice and lightning will interact with each other. For example freezing enemies with ice magic and then casting lightning spell will be more effective in a battle, while casting a fireball on the enemies in the water, the effect will be reduced.

I am eagerly looking forwards to this one, as I greatly enjoy my time with top-down action RPGs. Take a look at some of the screenshots and the video below
