New Dark Souls 2 Trailer, Screenshots prepare you for more challenging combat, gruelling progress
Namco Bandai has released the first in-game trailer accompanied by a handful of screenshots of their upcoming third-person action rpg Dark Souls 2, which is being developed by From Software for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. As you can judge from the video below, the visuals (particularly the lighting) have been given a noticeable facelift and the environments appear varied and alluring.
The images below give us a better idea of the numerous enemies our hero will face in his gruelling journey, ranging from wolf/dog-like creatures to huge chariots. Bonfires make a return in the sequel to perhaps the most arduous rpg in recent times, while torches will be especially useful necessary if one intends to explore the dark dungeons without meeting their swift demise from an unseen enemy. Combat appears to be slow but rewarding as in the previous games in the series, requiring players to act tactically rather than just button-mash their way through. Stay tuned for more details!
