New Screenshots + Nine Minutes of Watch Dogs Multiplayer

Ubisoft have unleashed a barrage of media for Watch Dogs, with the following batch of images as well as a nine-minute video expanding on the multiplayer aspect of the open-world action-adventure revolving around hacking. The screenshots below show the protagonist on a motorcycle, in a car evading cops by hacking a steam pipe, using the ctOS to monitor a poker players stress level; we also see the controllable giant Spider Tank which can be used to rampage around Chicago in a Digital Trip, as well as the mobile companion app used via Tablet.

Meanwhile, the video features commentary by Animation Director Colin Graham who shows how one can connect with other players in multiplayer – Online Hacking Contracts, ctOS Mobile Companion App and Competitive Decryption Combat. One of two characters sitting on a bench are spotted to have an open Online Hacking Contract, which lets you enter another player’s game. The clip then shows someone else hacking into the player’s world, leading to a search for the target and a subsequent car chase; however, the hacker escapes and gains notoriety points as a reward, allowing for him to unlock new skills.

Next we see the  ctOS Mobile Companion App in action, with one player issuing a race course challenge to another; the former controls a helicopter, the police and anything else that can be hacked via the app, while the latter must get through all the checkpoints in time. Finally, there’s the Competitive Decryption Combat mode, which pits two teams of four against each other to locate a file and decrypt it; this involves combat and hacking (raising/creating cover etc) as you race to complete your objective. Watch Dogs releases on 27 May for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4.
