Watch all three parts of Epic’s “Inside Unreal” series showcasing the Infiltrator UE4 demo

Epic Games have released the third part of their behind-the-scenes look into the production of the Infiltrator real-time demo powered by Unreal Engine 4. In this video, the studio’s Developer Support Zak Parrish and Senior Fx Artist Francois Antoine talk about creating fireball explosion effects and particle tricks that were visible around midway through the aforementioned demo using UE4 tech. They reveal that what makes this method of producing explosions so different from others is that it was made utilising the volume texture technique. Watch the clip to find out more!

We also have the other two clips released earlier; the first one sees senior visual effects artist Tim Elek and Zak Parrish discuss the use of various visual effects to enhance realism as well as vibrance to the environment and world, with features such as advanced GPU particle simulation and collision and dynamic particle lights employed via UE4. It’s worth the view to know how those astounding effects were created.

In this clip Elek and Parrish elaborate a bit on realistic water effects, lit translucency (I had to look this one up), GPU particle simulation and collision as well as a bunch of the stuff that was employed in the Infiltrator demonstration. Jaw-dropping visuals don’t come that easy!
