Watch out for new film ‘Bastille Day’ starring Idris Elba

Idris Elba is a British actor who is popularly known for Playing Stringer Bell in The Wire and for BBC’s drama Luther. In addition you’ll also remember him from the Thor series, Prometheus and Pacific Rim.

Elba is now set to star along side Richard Madden (Game of Thrones) in a new Thriller film Bastille Day which is set in Paris with additional location to include London, the actors home city.

I read a article on Variety and a brief on IMDB and from what I gather about the plot, it’s about a U.S CIA operative who is ordered to interrogate and eventually make a young American boy (con artist) disappear in order to avoid embarrassing the U.S government after the boy is linked as a prime suspect in a terrorist attack on the Paris metro.

However soon after a series of further attacks, the CIA operative finds out that the boy is innocent and that he is only linked to the main person carrying out the attacks.

Elba’s latest film ‘No Good Deed’ was a chart topper which earned a handsome profit in the Box office. It’s no doubt that Elba is a in demand actor and has all the attributes to hold leading roles in films. Therefore film finance companies and distributors who are financing the film will be looking forward to seeing the film finally finished. These include Vendome Pictures and Anonymous Content.

Elba has also been making the headlines within in media after the leaked Sony emails revealed that Sony executives are keen for him to be the next James Bond to replace Daniel Craig. There was also a alleged racial comment made by an ignorant U.S radio show Rush Limbaugh host which said that James Bond is a White Scottish and that Elba can’t play Bond because he’s black.

Also he was in the BBC crime drama Luther which ran for 3 seasons but he’s now returning back for a special two-part series with the BBC. So if you haven’t seen Luther you might want to check out Luther as it’s a very entertaining show to watch.
