Desert Rangers battle a Scorpitron in Wasteland 2 Screenshot

InXile Entertainment has released a single new screenshot of Wasteland 2, showing off a squad of Desert Rangers engaging a Scorpitron in combat. However, the developers have stated that the image is not a true representation of the post-apocalyptic RPG’s visuals, as the scene depicted was staged in-engine with some dramatic back-lighting added in for that cinematic look, while the enemy unit and his attack effect was placed manually.

Even so, one cannot dispute that it looks quite good, and raises hopes for what the modding community could do with the final release of the game with the proper tools. Wasteland 2 will arrive this August on the PC; find out more about it here.
