First trailer, screenshots, Box Art of Crytek’s open-world FPS Homefront The Revolution

Some excellent news ahead of this year’s E3 media barrage for gamers; here are the first screenshots, box art and trailer for Homefront: The Revolution, an open-world CRYENGINE-powered FPS set in a US occupied by Korean troops. Set to arrive next year on the PC, Xbox One, PS4, Linux and Mac, the shooter is being co-published by Crytek and Deep Silver and developed by Crytek Nottingham. Focusing on urban guerrilla warfare across Philadelphia, the game allows players to utilise tactics like sabotage, infiltration, assassination and more to defeat the enemy; it also boasts of four-player co-op and online action.

The sequel to Kaos Studios and THQ’s 2011 title stars Ethan Brady, an average guy resorting to the aforementioned strategy to overthrow the invaders. One can also establish bases and safehouses as well as acquire, improvise and customise their arsenal of lethal weaponry. Given Crytek’s work on Crysis, we expect the latter will consist of on-the-fly modification allowing for one to attach scopes, grips, silencers and the like to most of their weapons. The trailer below sees a group of resistance fighters infiltrating and ambushing an enemy outpost/checkpoint, before a dropship and an APC emerge on the scene. Expect to see more of the gamer in action next week at E3.
