Fresh screenshots of post-apocalyptic tactical RPG Wasteland 2

inXile entertainment’s post-apocalyptic tactical RPG experience is approaching its early beta stage for the PC, and the developers have graciously released the following screenshots giving us a bit more insight into the various environments of Wasteland 2. They also revealed a fair bit of what players can expect as far as the choice of skills and attributes are concerned.

First off, base attributes which can be allotted at the begining of the game are Coordination (firearms-related as it determines action points and ranged critical hit chance); Luck can result in better criticals, additional action points and more; Awareness is a mixture of perception and evasion rate; Strength is typical of RPG’s (physical damage, inventory weight, maximum constitution per level etc); Speed applies to both movement speed and length of skill usage progress meters; Intelligence grants more skill points when you level up, and finally Charisma is all about persuasion and reputation.

Skills available are plentiful though they have a max cap of 10 just like attributes; these range from combat ones like improved weapons mastery to Information skills such as lockpicking, safecracking, demolitions and computer tech. General skills such as barter, leadership, Field Medic and Weaponsmithing are also some of the choices available to players. What all this means is that Wasteland 2 empowers you to create a varied team with each member retaining distinctive useful skills allowing for very varied gameplay experiences and multiple paths and outcomes.
