Knights of the Old Republic 3 would have continued Revan’s journey says Obsidian Entertainment

Well well well, even a tiny bit of news pertaining to anything possibly Knights of the Old Republic-related gets our ….err shorts in a bunch, and now Obsidian Entertainment surprise us with news that the game was planned as a trilogy, with KOTOR 3 in pre-production at the studio. During a recent interview with Eurogamer, they revealed that Revan (the main character in the first KOTOR game) would reappear in KOTOR 3, though this time players would step into the shoes of a character called the Exile and attempt to locate Revan. Obsidian’s Chris Avellone says that’s why Revan never made an appearance in KOTOR 2, as the characters arc was planned for conclusion in the third game in the series.

Furthermore, the developers intended to bring back the popular Ebon Hawk, your base and home, as well as some of the companions such as the droids T3-M4 and HK-47 from previous KOTOR titles; one of the sequences planned supposedly involved “HK-47 firing behind you and being your cover support while you’re carrying him around on your back and getting to a repair station.” Meanwhile, Obsidian lead programmer Dan Spitzley speculated that a reason why KOTOR 3 may never have been greenlit could be due to the emergence of new consoles – PS3 and Xbox 360 – at the time. Alright, that’s all I can write about right now, as the sorrow is overwhelming fellow PC gamers. Check out the full article at Eurogamer for much more info.
