Narco Terror First 15 Minutes PC Gameplay & Impressions

Deep Silver’s little arcade title made its way to the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 earlier this week, and we have posted the first 15 minutes of gameplay footage as well as our brief impressions on the twin-stick shooter. Narco Terror revolves around Rick Quinn – a former spec ops dude who travels from Miami to South America to rescue his daughter from the clutches of an evil cartel. The game consists of 12 missions, drop in/drop out local and online co-op as well as the ability to customise and upgrade your arsenal.

As far as the game goes, its just what you would expect from a decent over-the top arcade shooter, with literally tons of explosions, simple controls (though we strongly recommend plugging in a controller instead of using a mouse +kb) and gameplay that is reminiscent of title such as  Renegade Ops and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Money can be obtained by blowing up stuff or locating hidden collectibles, and then used to upgrade weapons (cause more damage with BIGGER bullets). There are also upto four types of ammo such as armour piercing and incendiary rounds, and there are also some retro-style shoot-em-up sections with aircraft and boats.

As expected the game isn’t a resource hog, and should run smoothly enough on most PC’s; we tried it out on an E8400 with 4 GB RAM and a stock 560 Ti, and have no complaints. At $9.99, Narco Terror promises several fun-filled hours of fast-paced gunplay in a throwback to those old school arcade shooters and action movies.
