Stronghold Crusader 2 gets a new trailer

Firefly Studios’ independently developed Stronghold Crusader 2 marks the latest title in the long-running RTS series, and here’s a new trailer from the game, which is also the first time the developers have used a 3D graphics engine (Vision) in the Stronghold franchise. Set for release on the PC sometime this Summer, it is a sequel to the 2002 Stronghold: Crusader which took place in the Middle East during the Crusades.

The trailer shows various units working in harmony in a castle, depicts castle building, some of the varied AI characters and their armies, the siege of a castle and the subsequent breaching of its perimeter.

Saladin is one of the characters returning from Stronghold Crusader; others revealed include the Slave King, the Caliph and the Shah. The game will contain a full skirmish mode consisting of eight AI characters, though you can also play castle siege online with upto seven other players; multiplayer also allows for gamers to work in teams or co-op.
