Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag PhysX Update demonstrates impressive visual effects

Nvidia has issued the following video for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, showing off some of the increased level of detail and realism that the PhysX patch brings to Ubisoft’s pirate-themed open-world action-adventure. The addition of Particle Effects and Turbulence allows for volumetric smoke clearly visible when one fires pistols/muskets/cannons or throws a smoke bomb; this is even visible in something as simple as smoke emanating from chimneys, torches and camp fires and the fact that it interacts with weather elements like wind and rain adds so much more to the level of visual immersion. The clip also gives us a look at the change in visual quality that enabling Temporal anti-aliasing (TXAA) allows for (less jaggies!!!Yay!).
