Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Apocalypse DLC Preview Video shows giant robots, gameplay

The guys at Treyarch have sent forth a video preview of Apocalypse, the fourth and final DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 which was recently announced. As previously specified, this contains four multiplayer maps – two new and two reimagined versions of fan favourites from previous Call of Duty games, as well as the all-new Zombies experience in a thrilling WWII- Dieselpunk setting called Origins. Those who have the Season Pass can download the DLC as soon as it’s released.

In the video below – which contains bits of gameplay footage, Executive Producer Jason Blundell and Lame Design Director Havid Vonderhaar talk about how this map pack was created keeping in mind that this was the culmination of the several DLC’s released over the past months. They also showcase the new maps: Pod takes place in a failed abandoned utopian community allowing for close-medium-long range engagements; Frost is set in snow-covered Amsterdam with a bridge dividing the frozen river and the map; Takeoff take place on a rocket launch facility floating in the ocean, and Dig explores an archaeological site being excavated.

Last but definitely not the least is the very much anticipated Origins, which sees the return of the four original heroes (Nikolai etc) in a large-scale map with dynamic weather (rain, fog, snow) adding to the Zombies experience. Era-specific new weapons are the MG08 machinegun and the Mauser as a starting pistol. There’s also a moving defendable platform called the zombie tank, and of course, the giant robots.
