Fortnite Alpha to take place from 2 to 19 December; new trailer issued

Epic Games have announced that the Alpha for Fortnite is schedule to commence on 2 December and conclude on 19 December; they have also posted a new trailer to mark the development.

This phase of the Alpha has been termed as Online Test 1 (OT1), and is being conducted to ensure that all the basic elements (launcher etc) are working as intended, so players should keep in mind that while it may be a bit rough, the developers can be expected to take into account any player feedback received during this phase so as to incorporate into the game and ensure a more polished end product down the line.

The OT1 will see a few thousand people running around and indulging in what Fortnite has to offer, and one can register for a possible spot right here. The game involves players scavenging and constructing forts and other items during the day and defending them from invading monsters in the darkness. The free-to-play UE4-powered co-op sandbox third-person action-survival game is currently being developed for the PC with a 2015 release window, though console versions have not been ruled out.
