New Alien: Isolation Screenshots, Artwork are here to terrify you

This may be a Sunday, but that’s no reason why we can’t have some fresh gaming news. Here to prove exactly that are a bunch of new images from Alien: Isolation, a first-person stealth-oriented survival horror title by Creative Assembly and Sega. Apart from depicting the main antagonist of the game, the screenshots show off various parts of the interior of the space station Sevastopol wherein the protagonist Amanda Ripley attempts to find out the truth behind her mother’s disappearance while trying to stay one step ahead of the Xenomorph.

The images indicate that the famous motion detector/sensor will be back, allowing Amanda to keep abreast of the alien’s movements and what I am sure will lead to some tension-filled moments. Alien: Isolation is currently set to arrive in Q4 2014 on the PC and current and next-gen consoles. Whats good news for fans of the franchise is that the game will return to the survival horror roots of the movie series as far as gameplay goes, forcing the player to rely on their wits and the items/equipment they can salvage/put together instead of granting them magic pockets and an armoury. This gives me hope for the franchise….DO NOT mess this up Creative Assembly/Sega! Don’t forget to check out the debut trailer and some other screenshots at this link.
