Scifi RTS Etherium gets a Teaser Trailer

Focus Home Interactive and Tindalos Interactive have issued the first trailer for Etherium, its in-development scifi RTS for the PC in which three distinctive and powerful factions – the Consortium, the Council and Galaad – engage in conflict for the control of the titular scarce resource. The clip below depicts the Consortium amassing its forces on the desert planet of Serenade, one of seven such worlds in the game. Expect each of these planets to contain diverse environments, ranging from swamps (which may impede troop movement) to frozen terrain.

Etherium features a non-linear singleplayer campaign, wherein players are free to choose of the of the three aforementioned factions (each with their own characteristics), manage their resources, expand their territory and defeat opponents using units such as tanks, aircraft, colossal war machines and of course infantry. Scientific research will allow for one to unlock additional units, structures, upgrades and skills.

A notable point of interest is that the game boasts of a dynamic weather system that can impact how you play and strategise; a sandstorm for example, can reduce line of sight and potentially allow one to approach an enemy position unseen, thereby mounting a devastating surprise attack. This is definitely a game to watch out for; keep following us for more on this as and when its revealed.
