Dead Crusade pre-Alpha Unreal Engine 3 video marks cancellation of Kickstarter

Some sad news today for those looking forward to the Unreal Engine 4-powered action horror title for the PC; Aesthetic Games Inc. has announced the cancellation of the Kickstarter campaign due to various reasons, including poor marketing/spread-of-word and the somewhat poor reception of the early gameplay footage shown previously. The developers have said that several viewers failed to differentiate footage from the initial prototype build and from the more updated one, which led to some strong criticism of the early combat gameplay though it was not reflective of the final build.

However, it isn’t all bad, as the studio has stated that the game has not been cancelled, and that they intend to take the feedback from fans and amend their project accordingly, if and when, they do attempt to relaunch it in the future. They have also posted the following video as a tribute to those who expressed their support for Dead Crusade. While we cannot dispute that the initial footage shown could have done with some work, including in animations, the combat, premise and story looked intriguing enough to warrant our support, and we are sorry that things did not work out for the Kickstarter. Hopefully, the developers do not lose heart, but instead work out what can be improved and relaunch the project more successfully down the line.
