Xenonauts, an indie game inspired by classic X-COM titles

Xenonauts is a turn-based top-down strategy game where players are in charge of a multi-national military organisation, tasked to protect earth from extra-terrestrial invasion. The game is being developed by a London-based independent studio called Goldhawk. The core concept of the game is heavily influenced by classic  X-COM titles. In Xenonauts you recruit a squad of soldiers, battle aliens forces on a tactical ground and harness their technology to utilise it against them. Much like that of  X-COM you can even deploy your customisable aircrafts strategically all-round the globe to intercept incoming UFOs, then dispatch your troops to capture alien artifacts from downed UFOs and after examining these artifacts unlock various new equipment which provides more options to eradicate the alien forces. Air combat takes place between three human squadrons and aliens UFOs. You can pause during the air combat at any point of time and resume combat after issuing orders.

Xenonauts is now available on Steam Early Access, and has formally entered Beta stage.
